Recipe for Somali Steak


This is a quick and easy recipe for Steak. It is usually served with rice.

Cook time: 5 minute
Serves 2


3 Large pieces of Steak
2 Cloves of Garlic- smashed
1 Tablespoon of Cilantro- smashed
1/2 Chicken Cube
1 Teaspoon Cumin
1/8 Teaspoon of Chili Powder
1/2 Onion
1/4 Green Pepper
1/3 Cup Oil

Heat oil in a non-stick pan.

Add peppers and onions, cook for about 3 minutes

Mix cumin and chili powder. Sprinkle half of it over one side of the steaks

Add chicken cube and garlic/cilantro mix to pan. Stir until chicken cube is dissolved

Place the steaks seasoned side down in the oil.

Sprinkle the remaining cumin/chili powder over the other side of the steak

Cook for about 2 minutes

Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes or until steak is browned

Serve

  1. Nice, maasha allaah. this will be in my menu for the ashura iftar. jizakumullaah kheir. Sometimes you forget some recipes if it is not used daily and here is my long lost one, haven't had this ages. It also goes well with semolina(Soor).

  5. What kind of steak did you use? It is much thinner than steak I have used in the past.
