Recipe for an American Dessert, Banana Bread


I have been wanting to add this recipe for awhile. It is one of my favorite desserts. And, it is great because Somali's eat a lot of bananas so it's nice to have a recipe that can use older bananas instead of throwing them out. My family eats this with a little butter spread on each slice but it's really yummy without it too!


Cook time: 1 Hour


Makes about 15 pieces


3 Very Ripe (Brown) Bananas that have been mashed


2 Cups of All Purpose Flour


1/2 Cup of Oil


3/4 Cup of Sugar


1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda


1 Egg


Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix with a spoon or electric mixer until all ingredients come together. Small lumps may remain, that's ok.


Spray a bread loaf pan with non-stick spray


Put batter into pan and gently shake the pan to even out the batter


Put into an oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.


It should be brown on top

Serve
