Bur/Quraac/Cusheer

This is a very taste Sweet bread recipe. This is served for special occasions such as Ramadan. This is a dessert bread and one of my favorite foods. It goes well with Shaah (tea).

Cook time about 30 minutes plus time to rise
Makes 20 pieces

2 1/2 Cups of All Purpose Flour (more if dough is too sticky)
2 Eggs
1 1/4 Cups of Sugar
1 Teaspoon of Oil
2 Tablespoons of Dry Active Yeast
1/4 Cup of Hot Water
Oil for frying

Add flour, eggs, sugar, 1 teaspoon of oil, yeast and water to a pan. Mix until a dough is formed. The dough will be sticky but if you feel it is too sticky slowly add more flour. Rub the dough with a small amount of oil and cover with a wet towel. Let rest for 30-40 minutes. How much the Bur rises will depend on how long you let the dough sit and how hot the water was.

Once the dough as sat, break it into 5 balls ( you may need to flour your hands so the dough doesn't stick)

Flour a surface and roll each ball into a thick circle and cut it into 4 even triangles. Drop it into hot oil and fry until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel and serve.

You may notice your oil getting dark and 'dirty' looking, this is from the extra flour and will not affect the taste at all.
